ExB Wins Competition for Automated Evaluation of Melanoma Images

Following ExB’s sensational performance at the MICCAI/GlaS Challenge last year, the company’s image processing technology continues its winning streak in international competitions at the ISIC Challenge for automated skin lesion analysis and melanoma detection.

With more than five million new cases diagnosed annually, skin cancer is a major area of concern for public health care. Melanoma is a very dangerous disease and its early detection is therefore highly relevant.

ExB’s fully automated solution placed first in this challenge among 28 competitors, drawn from over 200 applicants. ExB image processing technology is based on the latest developments in Deep Learning techniques, which produce top quality results comparable to diagnoses made by trained professionals.
